Default New to Off Roading with a car

Hello,

My name is Scott I live in Socal. A friend and I just got a 62 baja bug. Our goal is to enter some races and ust have some fun. Both of us have rode dirt bikes for many years but have never done any competations. After watching Dust to Glory not long ago the bug bit and here we are owners of a car.

We need so pointers for what mods are necessary and where to get parts and help. Any suggestions are welcome.

Besides the off road thing we are avid touring riders on motorcycles.

Scott

Actually we want to go Baja Bug 5-1600 class. Our car is part way there. We have a long way to go but need pointers and information.

Class 11 will be a bit to harsh for my old bones. At least in that class we have bit more suspension. Still need to locate a IRS transaxle.
