Default Can I ever have a 4x4 on my Isuzu Pickup???

I currently have a '94 Isuzu Pickup 2wd. I get stuck everywhere (mud, sand, loose dirt) and I can't stand not having four wheel drive! Do any of you guys know what I would need or where to go for a 4 wheel drive conversion on my pickup? Please let me know

The easist way would be to go buy a 4x4. No one makes a conversion kit for Izuzu's. It can be done , but by the time your done you would have more money in it than a new 4X4. Heck my trooper doesn't have anything stock left on it so I geuss if I had started with a 2X4 it wouldn't have made much of a difference, butI have about 3000 bucks into parts though.

There is one other way that you might be able to do this without breaking the bank, that would be to look for a wrecked truck preferably a roll over where the suspension and transfer case aren't damaged buy it and tranfer all the parts from one to the other.

first off yoou CANNOT CONVERT A 4X2 TO A 4X4 WITH OUT REPLACEING THE FRAME. the frames are totasly different. however the chevy s10 and isuzu pick up are the same in almost every detail EXCEPT for the GAS TANK PLACEMENT AND ATTACHMENT. chevy on LEFT and isuzu is on the RIGHT.

Vdubman, you missed that conversation by about 3.5 years; and by the way, a 4x2 can be converted to 4x4. Check out independent4x.com.

FIRST OFF YOU NEED A 4X4 FRAME AS THE SPRINGS FOR THE 4X4 ARE OF THE TORSION SPRING STYLE INSTEAD OF THE COIL SPRINGS IN THE FRONT OF THE 4X2 THAT YOU CURRENTLY OWN. SECOND THING IS GOOD LUCK FINDING A 4X4 FRAME IN THE FIRST PLACE THAT IS NOT TWISTED OR WRECKED. AND THE TRY TO BUY IT IN A SALVAGE YARD AND THEY WILL PROBIBLY LAUGH AT YOU. SEEING AS A FEW YEARS AGO THE FEDS QUIT ALLOWING THE GENERAL PUBLIC TO BUY WRECKED FRAMES FROM SALVAGE YARDS. BECAUSEOF THE LIABILITY FACTOR.
