My puter got fried in the last snow storm we had on Monday. When the electricity was restored, I turned on the computer.....it made a buzz sound and then smoke came out, lol.

I bought a new tower yesterday, and it came with Windows Vista.

Been running VISTA for about 1.5yrs now and was a beta tester. I use it as my primary on my desktop at home and use it at work all day. PM me if you have tons of questions or I can just answer simple stuff here.

Here's an easy question for you....how can I resize pics? When I was running XP, I had a 'resizer' option when I right clicked a pic. Does Vista have a similar thing?

That resizer option on XP must have been some sort of software installed that added the right click option to the XP Shell because it's not a M$ Default for XP or Vista.

Vista did get a little fancier with picture viewing etc but you still can't really resize photos. For a work around open M$ Paint with your photo then click Image, Stretch/Skew and reduce the width and height by the % from the current size (needs a little guess work but it's do-able) for example if your current view looks like you need to get it 50% less then set it to 50%/50% and then the photo will reduce. Save it an a different name and check the file size by right clicking and hitting properties...then you will know if you can post it online or not...Hope this helps a little.

Another work around is to go to your photos in explorer and right click it then hit Send To Email and it lets you resize them right there...Haven't tried it with vista yet but know the option is there.

The tool you saw on your XP machine was most like M$'s powertoy for resizing and I just saw it isn't compatible with Vista, try this as an alternative recommended at a PC forum Resize tool for Vista

Thanks! That resizer seems to work pretty good.

Vista is pretty sensitive to most programs, lol.

Here's a message I get often....any idea?

'ATI External Event Utility EXE Module stopped working and was closed.'
