Default Corolla carb question...

OK, after some poking around, looks like my EGR is shot. Additionally, my carb is on it's last legs. Sooooo, figure it's time to do the swap. However, I still have to pass a sniffer emissions test for the next 2 years. Is this possible with the Corolla carb properly tuned and eliminating the EGR system? I sure hope so, as I can't see dumping almost $600 just to make this thing pass the test.
I poked around and did a search, but couldn't find a definitive answer.....
TIA....

KC

the egr itself is likly ok, but the passege is clogged . (through the head or up in the intake area. ) I was able to get a pony carb to pass with a rebuilt engine and new cat-con. (and a bottle of pass emmisions. )

I did the Corrolla swap and was happy with it execpt for major inclines, swapped a weber in and same problems, actually liked the Corolla carb better as I remember, this was about 6 yrs ago.. That said I never had the sniffer test where I live. Its coming though.
Good luck

OK, so finally was able to find a carb. for a reasonable price in FLA. Had it shipped, started the rebuild, noticed the idle mixture screw/needle valve is missing. Great. Called the company I bought it from, was told it's "as is", which I figured anyways. Scoured the boneyards near me, the closest I could find is out of an '80 2.2 It fits, but just doesn't feel right, if that makes any sense.
Soooo, does anyone know of a supplier for older Aisin parts? Toyota discontinued these a while back. Or, does anyone out there have a toy parts carb they would be willing to sell the screw/valve out of.
Many thanks....
