Default 8.8 vs 9.75

My rearend in my 2000 F-150 is just about to gernade for the second time. So I just bought a 9.75 (same gearing ofcourse)with 19000 miles and am going to bolt it up. All the measurements are the same. My only concern is the drive shaft length. Since the 9.75 is a little larger than the 8.8 I am somewhat concerned about the drive shaft being too long with the 9.75. Anyone have experience with this swap? Anyone know if this will make my driveshaft too long? This can't be an uncommon swap.
