1991 ford f-150 tilt steering problem

Hi guys and gals. I just replaced my igniton rod from info I found on this site. Now I can't get my tilt steering to work. It's like the little lever that the turn signal presses against doen't make contact on the bottom hinged tooth thing, to move it up to release the teeth so the tilt can move. any and all help would be great. Its too cold to do it now, but I am researching so I can tear into it again on a nice spring day. you can email me if you like jonstar123@hotmail.com
