Default Help with gap guards

i've got a set of gap guards for my bodylifted 95 hardbody however the directions to install the rear guards are not very explicit. They want me to tack weld a subframe below the body. is there any other way to effectively install the guards without welding the subframe?

Gap guards are usually made of rubber. You can simply use self-tapping screws to attach them.
