Default Vintage parts

I came across a 1972 yamaha ct2,and i like the old school looks of the bike so i figured id restore it as a side project, first time id worked on a bike, it so ive been working on the frame and doing some minor engine stuff when a major prblem occurs, i called my local shop and they say most of the parts are discontinued, all i need is a carb assembly and intake box and my bike runs, does anyone know of anywhere that sells these parts, someone i know said that some of the other engines from that time and size share some of the same parts, any help would be great, thanks

That air box will fit the AT2, AT3 and the CT2.
Same with the carb. You better look on ebay. VM24SC
Try MotoGrid for part numbers. They've got some things.
Not what you need. http://yamaha.motogrid.com/parts.aspx
Go to http://www.yamahaenduro.com/ for help and many more sources.
What major problem caused you to lose those parts??
I love my AT3!! I'd like a CT2 top end!

Well the major problem was that they dont make the parts, but you could also say it was major cause i really have no idea where they went,in the process of transferring the bike back in forth between my house and my friends they just randomly disapeared

Hey boys,
I just picked up a '73 AT3 from a farm It's said to not have run for 20 years or so. The motor and carb are super clean but the starter/generator assy, points etc. are rusted pretty bad.

I have found two sites for parts as well...

Bike Bandit's prices are generally better...

For North West you first look up your parts.

I created a wish list on this site then printed the wish list because you then goto the site below and punch in the part numbers for price and availability..

As for my AT3... I have spark, and I get some electrical (headlight, neutral indicator) but I haven't been able to start it yet. Tomorrow will bring a new plug, gas and oil. Wish me luck. Any ideas for the setting for jets? ie how many turns out?

I hope to get it running so my wife can learn the fundamentals for riding a bike before she gets on the '86 Shadow 700.

Thanks
Stinger
