Default Promoting Fraud in the Industry! And getting away

When are promoters, clubs, and sanctioning bodies going to be responsible for their commitments to racers? It is becoming a habit to advertise cash purses and later find a reason to cut the purse after the racers show up and the event is over! $500 is $500 short of $1,000! Start making a stand for yourself against promoters who don’t keep their word on purse amount when publicly posted or posted guaranteed. This win should be worth the $1,000 that was printed in ink several times, for the ink that it will receive! GET WITH IT OFF-ROAD PRO RACERS! You are not going to get anywhere in this industry if you allow being “PUSHED around” and “taken for granted”!

OFF-ROAD - $1000 Bounty on Garrahan

“On Sunday, January 9, the opening round of the AMA National Hare Scrambles Series kicks off in Hollister, California, and once again a bounty will be hanging over the head of five-time Hollister winner Brian Garrahan. Whoever wins the race other than Garrahan will take home an extra check worth $1000.”

“Note 7 Days later!”

OFF-ROAD - Woodford Stops Garrahan at Hollister

“Woodford's first victory at Hollister also earned him the $500 bounty for beating five-time winner Brian Garrahan, who was third on his Suzuki RM250”

And where is Kawasaki? Why isn’t Kawasaki standing up for their racer and demanding the FULL BOUNTY for Woodford?

The bottom line is the game is called “fraud” and these promoters, clubs, and sanctioning bodies are all responsible for making fools out of you racers!

If something isn’t done by you racers this will continue by promoters, clubs, and sanctioning bodies committing this fraud.

Signed, Frustrated with the entire purse shortcomings in the motorcycle racing industry!
This needs to be acknowledged and dealt with!
*Forward into the industry, Thank you!

Interesting...how long has that chicken scratch behavior been going on?

Best recourse is for no one to go race, or be a spectator, at an event sponsored/sanctioned by an individual, group, or company known to have done that in the past.

Easier said than done, I realize, but until they sponsor an event and no one shows up, they will continue doing what they are doing.

Are you sure that the web site didn't get thier facts mixed up regarding the money?

This issue has been going on for years, not only to professional off-road racers either... I have spoke with professional flattrackers who have had purse cuts on an advertised amount. AMA is a strong contender in turning a blind eye to this issue.

You are exactly right on them continuing to do so. Not all promoters are fraudulent. But obviously this one is. I did confirm the amount that was posted on cyclenews with an insider. It was not a typo.

There is more to my defense on this subject on http://www.woodsracer.com/portal/forums/
if you would like to read more.

There will be more racers to come vocalizing our right to be paid advertised purses. Fraudulent promoters should be warned this will not fly for much longer.

Thanks for the support man! Keep riding!
